Introduction to Mojo Projects

Malaysian company Mojo Projects Sdn Bhd is a highly-regarded name in the special events industry. The mission of the company is to deliver unique, creative and outstanding mega Events every time and set a new standard in the Event Management industry. We comprise of professionals in audio technology field as well as the entertainment arena.

We had organized MILFF in 2016 ,2017, with numerous international artistes. It was a sensational hit with great reviews from the social media circle and local media reports. This event brings together many Indian international performers to Malaysia drawing in large numbers of audience from across Malaysia and abroad. In 2018, we organized 4 concerts from May till September 2018. All events received superb reviews and again set a benchmark in the local Indian (international) concert sphere.

We invest heavily in social media promotions, via organic, and paid ads, driven by our partners Air Asia Redtix digital marketing team, Mojo PR team, and also the 35 social media influencers that are a part of #TeamMojo driving both paid and organic reach to levels unheard off for an Indian-based event. We had shared reach by fans and artists crossed 8 million eyes, 3 million Google AdWords imprints, 2.7mil views on all our videos on Facebook, 2.1mil impressions on Instagram.

This festival brings to Malaysia a “never-been-done-before” performance of South India’s Top 50 musicians and vocalists. These are independent artists, and some are film industry related instrumental performers’ and back ground vocalists. There will be 5 fusionist bands performing in the indoor StarXpo Centre, Kuala Lumpur trying to compete and outperform each other. Though this is not a competition, the professional courtesy and competitions amongst the artistes will see a brilliant showdown of musical magic on 22 Oct 2016.Kicking off the festivities will be world renowned Malaysian world music ensemble AkashA. AkashA is a 7-piece Malaysian band, playing music straight from the heart. You could call it World Music, but it’s more than that. Like Malaysia itself, AkashA is a fusion of four cultures – Malay, Indian, Chinese, and Western.

Masala Coffee (MC) takes over the stage next, Masala Coffee burst into the independent music scene with its eclectic mix of songs. The band has dished out songs of all genres – ranging from rock to melody to folk. Led by the soothing voice of Sooraj Santhosh they have an amazing viewership on Music Mojo channel and on You Tube as well. Taking over from MC will be Tamil Cinema mainstay playback singer Haricharan featuring the musical stylings of Bennet & The Band.  Bennet and the Band specializes in genre-based re-orchestration of popular melodies, Indian film tunes and traditional folk melodies for which the band uses session musicians lined up according to the type of music they need to play for the singer with whom they are jamming.

 Karthik and the Krew will then entertain the crowd with popular numbers from Kathik’s extensive list of cinema favourites. He has sung in multiple languages including Telugu (over 500 songs), Kannada (over 300 songs), Tamil (over 1000 songs) and in other languages like Malayalam, Bengali and Hindi. Karthik is known for his versatility in the industry which gave him opportunity to sing a variety of songs before the night is taken over by Thaikuddam Bridge, Thaikkudam Bridge is a Kerala-based music band, founded and formed in 2013 by cousins Govind Menon and Siddhartha Menon. The band became first famous through the musical show Music Mojo, which is telecast on Kappa TV and their own composition “Fish Rock”, which became popular through social media networking sites and YouTube, having garnered millions of views. The band does not have a specific genre and performs in various genres.


Concert 2: MILFF 2017 – 9th Sept 2017 – Star Expo Centre KL

They performed at the indoor StarXpo Centre, Kuala Lumpur – they had set a new benchmark for the Malaysian Indian entertainment scene, with a night of musical mayhem!

Don’t miss out the opportunity to see Sid Sriram belt out his mega hits live, such as Thalli Pogathey or the soothing Yennai Matrum Kadhale with his unique band comprising of superb musicians such as music director Leon James on keyboards.

 For those of you who are fans of Vijay Prakash, this is one of his rare appearances with a full-fledged band. In 2010, he became a regular singer under composer A. R. Rahman, as he performed several of his numbers such as “Hosanna” (Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Ye Maaya Chesave), “Beera Beera, Veera Veera (in Tamil & Telugu Versions)” (Raavan & Raavanan), “Powerstar” (Komaram Puli) and “Kadhal Anukkal” (Enthiran). Prakash has debuted as a music composer for the 2013 Kannada film Andar Bahar starring Shivrajkumar. He also won the Vijay Music Awards for the Best Male Playback for the song “Hosanna” from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.

Aalaap Raju is a playback singer and a bass player from Chennai, India. His rendition of Enamo Aedho from the movie Ko composed by Harris Jayaraj topped the music charts for several months in 2011 and won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – 2011. He has sung for music directors like Harris Jayaraj, Thaman, G.V Prakash, Deepak Dev, D.Imman, and Sreekanth Deva. His other noticeable songs include Vaaya moodi summa iru da from Mugamoodi, Engeyum Kadhal from Engeyum Kadhal, Endhan Kann Munnae from Nanban, Kadhal Oru Butterfly and Akila Akila from Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Anjana Anjana from Vandhan Vendran, Kuthu Kuthu from Ayyanar, Endhuko Yemo from Rangam, Nenjodu Cherthu from Yuvvh, Theeyae Theeyae from Maattrraan, Jal Jal Osai from Manam Kothi Paravai, and Maya Bazaar from Ennai Arindhaal. Be prepared for some retro magic and superhits alike from Aalap and his super talented band.

Agam’s musical style is Carnatic Progressive Rock. Their music is a blend of Carnatic music and Rock. The band draws inspirations from Traditional Carnatic music and progressive rock acts like Dream Theater.. The band borrows their name from the Tamil word ‘Agam’ which means the ‘Heart, soul or the inner soul’. The band was formed in the year 2003. The current lineup consists of Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals and violin), Ganesh Ram Nagarajan (drums and backing vocals), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards and lyricist), T Praveen Kumar (lead guitar), Aditya Kasyap (bass guitar and backing vocals), Sivakumar Nagarajan (ethnic percussions), Jagadish Natarajan (rhythm guitar), Yadhunandan (Drummer). Agam received its big break in the year 2007 when it participated in a band hunt called “Ooh la la la,” hosted by the Tamil television channel Sun TV. The competition was judged by the Oscar-winning Indian music composer A. R. Rahman. Rahman was impressed by the band’s potential and adjudged them one of the winners of the contest. Their success in “Ooh la la la” brought them into mainstream and they performed in concerts and music festivals in South Indian cities like Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad.  Agam has collaborated with many individual musicians over the course of 5 years. Among them was their collaboration with acclaimed Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal for a song titled Live Again and with Aruna Sairam for Navotsavam.

Sooraj Santhosh is an Indian playback singer who sings mainly in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages and also sung in Hindi, Kannada and Badaga. He is a member of the popular band Masala Coffee. This time however, he will be featured with Jatayu, a fresh, Carnatic fusion band led by Shylu Ravindran on Electric carnatic guitar. This combination is explosive and we are going to see some very new experimental music and brilliant covers from them.

Madras, the melting pot and epicentre of culture, language and the performing arts. It is also the south’s movie capital. Mojo Projects has envisioned a night of nostalgia filled with super hit numbers from the golden years of Maestro Illayaraja and others brought to you live by the Aalap Raju Band, playback singers Rahul Nambiar and the smooth Ranjith with the ever sultry Saindhavi.

This production will intertwine audio visual and poetic aspects of the compositions, as well as some stories behind those beautiful melodies and movies. Don’t miss this opportunity to revisit the 80’s of Madras as presented through the super talented, energetic and youthful presentation of today’s generation singers. Be mesmerized by the high energy and classical depth of Agam, then on to the versatileand rich sounds of Stephen Devassy & The Solid Band and end the night with a thriller with award-winning playback singer Naresh Iyer & The Navneeth Sunder Ensemble.

Oscar winning living legend AR Rahman will be celebrated in this episode of the Mojo Concert Series by the very singer-colleagues that had delivered his compositions during the early stages of his massive film introduction in Roja and other movie albums throughout the 90’s and early 2000s.

Come witness the amazing voice of stalwarts like Unni MenonUnni Krishnan and Harini, plus Super Singer fame Hari Priya as they belt out their own super hits under ARR and listen as they share their experiences working with the then up and coming music director. Their perspective will add a new dimension to the night’s performances and also look out for some witty chatter and interviews by Anil Srinivasan – a pianist and entertainer that will anchor a show for the first time in Malaysia, with an energetic band ensemble. Truly a night not to be missed by all Rahmaniacs and music lovers alike

The Malaysian Independent Live Fusion Festival or #MILFF as it is now referred to, has been the benchmark of Malaysian Indian entertainment for the past few years, and this year the challenge to create something spectacular has been immense.

Malaysian record label #PU4LYF will open the night with Rabbit Mac putting together a live band performance that is beyond rap and free styling. The label will put together an ensemble of talent and perform as a full unit, something that’s never been done before.

The Mainstage, as it’s been called this year, will see a myriad of talent from the youthful exuberance of Sathyaprakash and Pooja Vfresh out of their successful Vijay TV Super Singer run, which has launched their singing careers to the peak with AR Rahman and many other song writers. This duo will be paired with Rajesh Vaithiya the world- famous veena maestro and his eclectic band of musicians. We are looking forward to some earth shaking music from this never-been-attempted-before combination. Sasi The Don, featuring Anuradha Sriram will also be featured for the first time on MILFF Main stage where the Malaysian icon is releasing their single, recorded in India earlier this nyear.

This segment will be closely followed by the brand new sounds of singer and music director Sean Roldan and his band. Themed “Sean Roldan Live” lookout for some of his own BGM and songs from famed movies like Vellai Illa Pathadhari 2 ,Power Paandi and National Award winning movie titled Joker. Sean will also sing some of the big hits from his collaboration with Anirudh and other music directors. Sean is performing in Malaysia for the first time.

The night will rock on with the infectious energy of sassy Andrea Jeremiah and the band comprising of Leon James (music director on keys) and other seasoned musicians that she has put together to back her up this time around. Andrea, a well-known actress and singer will be doing a full band and live performance for the first time in Malaysia.

Taking the night to its peak with be the blue eyed boy of today’s generation Benny Dayal & Funktuation band. They have been performing together all over the world but this will their first time in Malaysia.

Benny an award winning singer has toured with AR Rahman to this region a few times but this time it will be a full band and segment dedicated to him to close the events at #MILFF2018. Benny has promised to deliver a selection of his great hits and also do some fusion music that’s been his trademark over the years. His stage presence and showmanship is world class and we at Mojo Projects are truly delighted to have crafted out the whole journey for Malaysian fans out there. Let the show begin!

Retro Rahman 2.0 was a second tribute concert to Oscar winner AR Rahman. This concert took place on 3rd August 2019 at StarXpo Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The night began with the pianist Anil Srinivasan and the energetic Mani & Band, Vijay TV Super Singer fame, featuring Nikhil Ram on flutes. Mano, singer, voice over artist, and composer of Indian films. Next act was performed by Srinivas playback singer who has sung over 2000 songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi Sadhana Sargam a singer who had featured in Indian movies primarily in Hindi and Tamil.Rahman had approached to Harini to sing Nila Kaigirathu in the award-winning film Indira, at age of 15. She has sung more than 2,000 songs in Tamil including the Indian Telephone Manipol and Hello Mr Edhirkatchi from Iruvar. Satya Prakash is a playback singer is known for his contribution to award winning songs, such as Nallai Allai’s from Kaatru Veliyidai and Aalaporan Thamizhan from Mersal, his steady growth was guaranteed and his mellifluous voice, making waves in the process. The show was a huge success once again. Retro Rahman 2.0 was a crowd favourite, with good song selection and a perfect band, Mani & Band serenaded the artists through the night. However, they were flaws faced by Mojo Projects which were the sound system and dilapidated venue.

Malaysian Indian Live Fusion Festival 2019 (MILFF 2019) was presented by Mojo Projects after the success and overwhelming response of 3 MILFF events. MILFF 2019 was a huge success with over 11 million digital media reach. MILFF 2019 was held at StarXpo Centre, KWC, Kuala Lumpur on November 23rd, 2019. MILFF 2019 took off with the performances of Malaysia’s very own The Jagats, alongside with India’s Nikhil Mathew, the first champion of Airtel Super Singer. Next act was performed by Neha Venugopal, an independent artist of Indo-Soul. The band, comprising musicians from different genres including Carnatic and rock, creates a sound like classical fusion. The Chennai-based five-piece band was led by the leading violinist and vocalist Karthick Iyer. Rajesh Vaidya, an Indian Vena player, has performed 60 songs in 60 minutes on stage, re-creating The Asian Book of Records for the first time in Malaysia as part of the Do You Have a Minute series. Besides, Shaktisree Gopalan mesmerised the crowd with her soulful voice. She has sung in different genres including Pop, RnB, Jazz and Trip-hop. Swetha Mohan and Haricharan had teamed up with Bennett and Band and rocked the night. MILFF 2019 had guaranteed top notch music and brought attention of fans throughout the nation. This show had it’s struggles, but Mojo Projects professionally handled the problems faced.
